Christchurch is perfectly placed for a camping break that combines the coast with the New Forest. Stay nearby and you can spend one day exploring Mudeford and Highcliffe, another walking through ancient woodland and still be back in Christchurch for an evening beside the harbour. If location is your priority, Meadowbank Holidays is one of the most convenient options on our list. It is actually located in Christchurch, in a peaceful riverside position between Christchurch and Bournemouth. The family-owned park describes itself as Bournemouth's closest caravan holiday home and touring park.
Its position works particularly well for visitors wanting to explore Christchurch, Mudeford and Bournemouth while also having the New Forest within easy reach. There are bus services within walking distance of the park, and the New Forest is around a 20-minute drive away.
There is an important distinction, however: Meadowbank is primarily for touring caravans and motorhomes rather than tents.

Located near Milford on Sea, the park combines access to the coast and New Forest with a much more traditional family-holiday-park experience. Shorefield offers touring and camping alongside its holiday accommodation.

The campsite is characterised by wide open spaces, woodland, ferns and a pond, with New Forest ponies regularly wandering around the site. It also gives visitors direct access to miles of walking and cycling routes through the National Park.
